The waterfall is a horsetail waterfall and has a single drop of about 160 metres[3] although some estimates place it at 150 metres or 200 metres.[4] There are claims that it is the tallest single drop waterfall in Australia [5] and it is claimed to be the second largest waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere.[1] However there are more than 25 falls in the Southern Hemisphere with single drops greater than these falls.
At the falls there is a kiosk, picnic tables and a barbecue area. There is also a viewing platform and walking trails.[6]
